For some people, writing is easy. The rest of us have to slog through multiple revisions and beg our friends and family to proof read for us. With all this work that you put into your blog, wouldn’t it be nice if someone out there in the vast world of the internet actually read it?

Just follow these six easy steps every time your write a post. It won’t happen overnight, but your blog post will reach more eyes and minds than ever before!

1. Optimize Your Post with Keywords

Think about it. When you want to find something or learn something new, you do a search for specific terms. For example, the keyword phrase “how to” was searched over 400,000,000 times last month. Put some careful thought into the keywords you use in the title of your blog post, and try to use these same keywords at least three time in the body of your post as well. You can use the free Wordtracker or Google’s Keyword Tool to help you decide what keywords are important.

2. Promote Using Social Media

Hopefully, you’ve put some thought into building a community around your blog by using Social Media networks. Let these communities know about your blog post. Tailor your message for each specific network you engage in.

3. Twitter is Great for New and Seasoned Bloggers Alike

If you haven’t built a Social Media community, but you’ve written a great blog post and want to share it, do a search on Twitter for your subject. Reach out to people looking for resources with the shortened URL of your blog post.

4. RSS Feeds are Great!

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and it’s a way to automatically send your blog posts out to whomever subscribes to it. One way to supercharge your RSS feed is to submit it to Social Booking Marking sites. Stumbleupon and Reddit are two very popular sites to look into.

5. Guest Blog

Bloggers are always trying to find fresh, new content. Reach out to the blogs that you read with several ideas for post that you would like to write. Once you’ve been accepted, be sure to include a link in your guest post back to your blog.

6. Add a Link to Your Email

Think about how many emails you send out each day. Many of them are to people that work directly or indirectly with the niche that you write for. Include a link to your blog in the signature of your email. You’ll be amazed at how many of your email connections become loyal blog readers.
